Prefetch

Last updated: Aug 20, 2025

To enhance your reading experience, OmniTranslate introduces Prefetch, a powerful feature designed to minimize waiting times and provide a seamless translation flow.

NOTE

This feature is available exclusively for Pro Users.

A More Seamless Reading Experience

Enabling Prefetch automatically translates the next chapter in the background. This means that when you finish reading the current chapter, the next one is already translated and ready for you, allowing you to continue reading without interruption.

How to Enable Prefetch

You can activate Prefetch from the settings menu. Navigate to the Translation tab in your settings and toggle the Prefetch option to enable it.

How It Works

Once enabled, Prefetch will start working automatically. For example, after you have translated Chapter 1, you might see that Chapter 2 appears with a "Translating" status in your list of translations, even before you've clicked to open it. This indicates that Prefetch is working in the background to prepare the next chapter for you.

This allows you to move from one chapter to the next without any delay, creating a smooth and uninterrupted reading experience.

WARNING

Prefetch may occasionally fail on websites that use strong anti-bot protections, such as Cloudflare. In such cases, you may need to manually fetch the next chapter.
