Chunk Actions

You can refine your translations by taking targeted actions on individual text chunks. This provides precise control to enhance translation quality through regeneration, in-depth analysis, manual editing, or text copying capabilities.

TIP

To access chunk actions, ensure your "Chunk Actions" setting is set to "Show" or "Always Show". Navigate to settings and select the Behavior tab to configure this option.

Accessing Chunk Actions

On Desktop

Chunk actions appear when you hover over any text chunk. With "Always Show" enabled, these actions remain permanently visible on the left side of each chunk.

On Mobile

In the mobile app, swipe left on any chunk to reveal the action menu. This gesture opens the chunk actions drawer:

Three primary actions are available to improve translation quality:

WARNING

After regenerating, enhancing, or manually editing a chunk, you must remove the modified version and revert to the original before you can perform any of these actions again.

1. Regenerate

Regeneration creates a fresh translation of the selected chunk using the same translation model. This quick solution addresses issues like untranslated phrases or outdated terminology without retranslating the entire document.

2. Enhance

The enhance feature delivers superior translation accuracy by having an AI model review the existing translation line-by-line. The model checks for errors and then fixes any issues it detects. While this comprehensive analysis requires additional processing time, it delivers substantially improved translation quality.

When enhancement begins, you'll see the processing indicator as the AI conducts its analysis.

Any translation issues identified during the process are documented in the "Errors" tab for your review.

3. Edit

The Edit action allows you to manually modify the translated text of a specific chunk. This is useful for making surgical corrections or tailoring the style to your exact needs.

• Markdown Support: You can use standard Markdown such as **bold** or *italic*.
• Styled Boxes: Wrap text in <i> and </i> tags (no spaces inside the tags) to display it as a styled box. For example: <i>important note</i>.
• Character Limit: Your manual edit can be up to 2x the length of the original unedited translation.

Just like regeneration and enhancement, once a chunk has been edited, you must remove the edit and return to the original translation before you can use the Edit, Regenerate, or Enhance actions on that chunk again.
